Clarinets are tuned by pulling out the joints. However, the sonority and balance of
the musical interval will be lost if you pull them out drastically.
This product is a sponge ring that fits into the joint gap to reduce any interval
imbalances and improve transmission of vibrations. In particular, it makes a big
difference to improvements in throat tone.
It is easy for acoustic cohesion to be impaired by the joint. This article uses herbal
activators to prevent degradation of the mechanism caused by oxidation.
